Sleep

A changing student timetable can make sleep difficult. A few regular habits can help your body recognise when it is time to wind down.

Things you can try

  • Try to get up at roughly the same time most days.
  • Give yourself a short wind-down period before bed.
  • Keep work away from the bed where possible.
  • Write down tomorrow's tasks if your mind is busy at night.
  • Notice whether late caffeine, energy drinks or long naps are making sleep harder.

When to ask for more help

If sleep problems continue for several weeks or are affecting your ability to function, consider speaking to your GP or Student Support.
