Feeling overwhelmed
When several things need your attention at once, it can be hard to know where to start. You do not need to solve everything in one go. Focus on making the next step smaller.
Things you can try
- Write down what is on your mind instead of trying to hold everything in your head.
- Choose one thing that genuinely needs your attention today.
- Break a large task into a first step that takes 10 or 20 minutes.
- If you have missed work or deadlines, contact your tutor rather than avoiding the conversation.
- Take a short break for food, water or fresh air before deciding what to do next.
