Confidence & self-doubt
It is common to compare yourself with other students or worry that everyone else is more capable. Confidence usually grows through doing things, not by waiting until you feel completely ready.
Things you can try
- Keep a note of work you have completed and feedback you have received.
- Compare your progress with where you started, not with someone else's strongest work.
- Ask for clarification when you do not understand something.
- Treat feedback as information about the work, not a judgement about you.
- Choose one small situation where you can practise speaking up or asking a question.
When to ask for more help
If self-doubt is stopping you attending, participating or submitting work, speak to your tutor or Student Support.
